Youth Education begins each Sunday morning at 10:30 AM in the main
sanctuary. Our children are involved in the very beginning of the
Celebration Service with their parents and our loving, caring, and nurturing
congregation. When the lessons are about to start, the children are
recognized at the front of the church and serenaded as they leave for their
Sunday lesson in the Spiritual Cottage, where our Youth Education Director,
Cindy Duty, and her Volunteer Staff present a very special lesson called
"MOMENTS OF TRUTH WITH YOUTH".

The mission of
the youth education at Unity of Charlotte is to provide experiences in a
nurturing environment that encourage children to explore, understand and use
spiritual principles. Our goal is to grow spiritually through our connection
with all people at Unity of Charlotte.

Youth Education
Focuses on
Affirmations -- Bible verses -- Practical Life Skills
- The affirmations are based on a Unity Principle and a corresponding power
such as love, understanding, or faith
- Bible verses & stories are woven into the lessons
- Life skills are integrated in the lesson, to help the youth practice their
spirituality
- Sunday activities weave fun & fellowship into the lesson
- Prayer is encouraged and practiced
There are many
ways to share your talents with the youth to foster connections with the
children of Unity of Charlotte. We strive to be receptive of the youths'
perspectives of what they need, and to confirm their spiritual nature.
- Occasionally -Commit to being a Youth Education assistant or facilitator,
or help with community youth activities.
- Routinely - Pray for guidance for youth education and for your
involvement.
- Once yearly: Share your unique gifts, hobby, practical life skills, or
career.
What else do you envision us doing? We want to know, and we look forward to
connecting with you!
We are fulfilling the vision of spiritual growth
for the youth and teachers of Unity of Charlotte.

Unity of
Charlotte has two areas of volunteer possibilities:

Nursery (birth through about 4.5 years). We have
a new crop of babies that need to be held and loved!
-
Unikids, Uniteens, and Youth of Unity participate
in Unity lessons in the Spiritual Cottage.
Lessons last
about one hour, and consist of the teaching for the day, followed by an
activity to reinforce the lesson. All lessons are provided for you and
materials are set up prior to the lesson by the Youth Director. All you
have to do is teach!!! This is a unique opportunity to get to know our
children, and to spread the Unity legacy to them.
