Impressive Things to Do That People Love
What truly attracts and leaves people wanting more has little to do with your appearance. Looking a certain way will only get you so far. But being attractive has plenty to do with little actions and some other things. Here are some that work like a charm.
Listen without prejudice
Listening ensures the person that you are with them. Good listening is active, unlike simply “hearing,” which is much more passive. Empathy is a crucial ingredient of authentic listening. Show that you care by mindfully listening to people instead of nodding and waiting for your turn to tell what’s on your mind—that’s called “waiting-to-talk”.
Be courageous
Courage comes in various shapes and forms. For some, it is jumping from a cliff, but true courage comes from within. Stand up and let your imperfections show—with a kind smile. It is inspiring. If you have a story to share, which might inspire others, be brave.
Be yourself with a dash of mystery
Faking-it is certainly not attractive, but so is revealing your dirty laundry. It is okay to be an open book, but without going into too much detail regarding your finances, your frustrating family members, or some other drama you’re experiencing.
Slow your movements
Slowing down shows a level of emotional intelligence that not many people show. People are always running around, jumping from one topic to another, making them appear more anxious—some call it being efficient; it’s also called ADHA. By slowing down your movements, you send a message that you have your emotions under control, which is a decisive move and is calming for those around you.
Be present
It is easy to let your mind wander, so staying in the moment is a challenge. Luckily, you can practice being mindful, present, and engaged in a conversation, even when you are merely listening. Just choose to do so.
Quietly stand up for yourself
Shouting is a sign of insecurity. Instead, choose your words wisely. Focus on your voice and breathe. Express yourself calmly, straighten up your spine, and confidently stand up for yourself.
Let others shine
It is okay to let others take the spotlight. Most people who attract others know their own personal value and are not afraid to take a few steps back from others and to just observe.
Develop passions
Get invested in a topic, hobby, or even your work. You do not have to become an expert, but being educated is appealing. Having passion is also a turn-on. By sharing your vast knowledge in appropriate situations, you are setting standards, and people see you in a better light.
Loosen up
Your self-image is easy for others to see. Be relaxed, dropping your shoulders, and uncrossing your arms to appear more approachable and welcoming. By making yourself appear pleasantly, people will believe that you are stronger.
Remember people’s names and use them in conversation
People love to feel seen and heard, and using their names in conversation is a powerful way to show that you care. When you meet someone for the first time, make an effort to remember their name by repeating it back to them or associate it with something you remember. Then, the next time you see them, use their name in conversation to make them feel unique and valued.
