A Prime Resolution for the New Year

Rev. Mary L. Kupferle, Daily Word, April 1991 (curated). She was a prominent Unity minister and author known for her inspirational writings on spiritual laws, prayer, and healing.

Choose the best resolution there is: “Let Go and Let God.” It is time to let God take over. Whether you’re facing emotional stress, mental blocks, physical challenges, or relationship struggles, the answer is the same: Let the most powerful force in the universe help you to handle it. This is not giving up; this is using your own free will and inviting All Power. It is popular to alternatively reword this resolution to: “Live and Let Live”.

You may feel weighed down because you’re the one who usually takes charge—at home, at work, or in family matters. But the most effective way to lead is to trust God with the burden. No matter the situation, your role, or the need for healing, God will show you the way. Answers will be found in between your thoughts—look there for direction.

Start the healing process by holding this thought close: I am willing to let go and let God handle all. Breathe deeply, relax, and affirm: There is a presence and power beyond my understanding, ready to work through me. I don’t have to struggle alone. With God, all things are possible. I let go and let God handle all.

God’s wisdom is available to you right now. Guidance and direction are here to lift you out of stress—even from problems that seem impossible. Peace and strength are already within reach. No old habit of worry or doubt can stand against God’s love for you.

Letting go doesn’t mean avoiding responsibility. It means facing challenges with courage and a new awareness of God’s partnership. You can handle whatever comes because you stand on the solid foundation of God’s Spirit within you.

Keep reminding yourself: I am willing to let go and let God handle all. If action is needed, if words must be spoken, if truth must be known, God will reveal it. You are not alone. God’s wisdom supports your vision and God’s love is always working for your highest good. I am willing to let go and let God help me. God is the worker; I am the channel. God can handle everything.

Sometimes letting go means opening yourself to new ways of finding peace, health, and wholeness. Be willing to follow even the smallest nudges of guidance. God will show you fresh methods for receiving your good. Flexibility is part of the journey, and God’s presence keeps you safe as you grow.

I’ve learned personally that in times when I’ve understood the least—when solutions seemed far away, when healing felt impossible, when faith was at its lowest—by persistently letting go and letting God, answers and light became clear.

So, dear friend, let go with confidence. Release old ideas and methods and allow God’s wisdom and love to work for you. Take time to relax—your body, mind, and spirit—and repeat, I am willing to let go and let God handle all. Let these words become the foundation for peace, strength, healing, courage, and joy in your life.
